Ashoka University
What we build in a university lasts for generations. A university shapes minds, and minds shape everything else. Its benefits reach people not yet born.
Ashoka is a liberal arts and sciences university founded on an unusual idea for India: that a great university could be built collectively, by many founders, with no single name above the gate.
Dr. Amit is one of Ashoka's founders and a Trustee, and an Advisor to its Trivedi School of BioSciences.

The role carries accountability for governance, for the university's long-term finances, and for the quality of what is taught. Dr. Amit also teaches on campus, giving guest lectures that bring his experience in healthcare and investing directly to students.

The university educates students to think across disciplines, and it is building research in India that stands with the best in the world. We could have spread our support across many institutions. We chose to go deep with one. One university that is well governed and well-funded for fifty years does more good than ten others. The teaching, and the credit, belong to its faculty.
